Last year I covered a Women's Self Defense seminar in Farmington Hills at the Costick Center. The next Women's Self Defense seminar will take place at the Farmington Family YMCA on May 5th from 9a-11:30a. The event costs $8 and is tax deductable. The $8 fee covers class supplies and a donation to HAVEN.

Over one thousand women have participated in the EPC’s popular self-defense seminars, which have been presented ten times during the past six years. The class will be taught by Jeff Duncan, master instructor and sixth degree black belt. Through a series of close-range drills, women will learn both situational awareness and self-defense skills.

The self-defense seminar is open to all women ages 11 and up. A $8 dollar registration fee will cover class supplies and also a tax deductible donation to be shared by HAVEN, an Oakland County crisis and counseling center for victims of domestic violence, and the Farmington Family YMCA’s youth and family programs.
