My kids had the day off of school recently so my husband and I took them to Blakes Cider Mill for some cider and donuts and to check out their Fall Festival featuring Barnyard Funland and Spookyland.

Fall Festival at Blakes Cider Mill consists of access to their enormous Barnyard Funland and Spookyland attraction. For $6.95 per person ($8.50 per on weekends) kids can enjoy:

Blake's Cider Mill in Armada is, quite simply, the Cedar Point of Cider Mills in Michigan. The vision of Blake's Cider Mill expands well beyond produce and cider. Its atmosphere is almost like a state fair during Blake's Cider Mill weekly all season Fall Festivals.

Some cider mills in Michigan can come off as campy or touristy. Diehls Cider Mill in Holly is neither. It's a no-frills, pure cider mill experience. Despite the lack of flash, there is still plenty to see,

Erwin Orchards and Cider Mill has been a western Oakland County tradition for over 90 years. They boast that they are "still growing" though it's hard to imagine it becoming any bigger. Erwin's Cider Mill is huge! The farm is designed for large groups of people and reminds me a lot of Westview Orchards in Romeo.

Goodison Cider Mill is a quaint roadside cider stop located on Orion Road. They have a little picnic area off to theside for people to enjoy the Goodison Cider Mill cider. Goodison Cider Mill features pony rides and live music for the kids on Sundays.

Hys Cider Mill is open on weekends between 11a-6p through mid-November. Luke, the grandson of the original owner, showed me around Hys Cider Mill and demonstrated the brand new cider press and taught me a lot about making Hys Cider Mill cider.

I've lived within 10 miles of Middleton Cider Mill for 30 years but have never had the pleasure of visiting it until recently. I've passed Middleton Cider Mill a million times. You can barely see it from the road even though

Miller's Big Red is a great way to spend the day and ranks highly among the local Michigan cider mills in offering a complete cider mill experience. One trip and you'll soon realize that Millers is a year-round fully
