Community Housing Network - Troy

October 27, 2011

altI was unaware of the services Community Housing Network of Troy provided until I posted a recent article in the Autism Diary of Oakland County Moms regarding services CHN is providing for individuals with autism seeking affordable housing solutions. Anne Osmer, the Community Relations Manager for the Community Housing Network, Inc. e-mailed me recently about the range of services the Community Housing Network provides to residents of Oakland County and Metro Detroit, Michigan.

Here is the info:

Community Housing Network is a nonprofit organization that helps people with disabilities and those who are homeless find long-term, successful housing. We are committed to securing permanent solutions to homelessness, and access to affordable housing for people in need, through proven strategies of prevention, development of affordable housing, housing assistance, community education and referral, advocacy and additional services. We have many programs and services we offer to the community, including our Housing Resource Center that serves as a “one-stop-shop” for all things housing. Programs include housing transition planning, to help individuals with disabilities and their families and supports create housing solutions that are centered around the individual. The organization carries out its work in metro Detroit. For more information visit our website.

The Community Housing Network also has a seasonal Adopt A Family program. This is an opportunity for people to donate and volunteer. Information about Adopt A Family can be found here.
