Sound-Wave Music and Arts in Auburn Hills Review

January 10, 2012

altSound-Wave Music and Arts in Auburn Hills Business Review

Sound-Wave Music & Arts opened late 2011 in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Sound-Wave Music & Arts owners (Marcus, Susan, and Nick) started this business because they saw it as an opportunity to do what they love doing, and they saw a need for it in the area. They're good teachers (Marcus even taught me a couple of moves on the congas in my few short minutes while I was there) and they all wanted this to be a focus in their lives. At Sound-Wave Music & Arts, they offer something for everybody.

i9 Flag Football - Review

November 08, 2011

altMy son's introduction to i9 Flag Football (and flag football in general) took place this summer. I was thankful there was an option for flag football during the summer months as most youth sports leagues tend to take a hiatus during the summer. Our summer i9 Sports flag football experience was very positive so we signed up for a full season of i9 fall flag football.

Oakland County Michigan Sports Leagues Reviews

November 08, 2011

altIt seems like every season the same questions keep popping up in my household in regards to various Michigan, Oakland County area and Rochester area youth sports and activities. It usually culminates in me calling the parents of my children’s' classmates to find out what their experiences are with this local soccer league or that local dance class. I think this became trickier over the years as there are now many more choices.

We've been doing the youth sports/leagues/recreation routine for about 5 years now. Not bad... I'm becoming a veteran. Too bad I don't feel any wiser. We've had some great experiences and some not-so-great ones.

fLipSpot Gymnastics and Cheer - Orion Township

October 03, 2011

altKids love to tumble. I remember as a young girl I would get excited to do any sort of gymnastics. It's something that is naturally fun for boys and girls alike.

The owners of fLipSpot Gymnastics and Cheer fulfilled a need by opening their center in January 2011. Now, local children (as well as adults) can enjoy a wide variety of classes and clinics from beginning to competitive gymnastics and cheerleading.

Doll Hospital and Toy Soldier Shop - Berkley

September 12, 2011

altThe Doll Hospital and Toy Soldier Shop in Berkley is a toy store with a story and loads of history.

The Doll Hospital and Toy Soldier Shop in Berkley began as a doll hospital back in 1948. Kay Parish (or "Dr. Kay" as she was known) was a business woman way ahead of her time. She convinced her husband to invest in a floundering doll repair shop in Detroit, learned the business, and then moved the business to Berkley where it still stands today.

i9 Sports Instructional Youth Soccer - Review

July 28, 2011

altMost youth sports leagues wrap up their spring sports right when school ends and the fall sports don't begin until after school begins. Summer youth sports camps are an option but most of those only last one week and cost nearly as much as a typical 6-10 week league does. Hardly enough to put a dent in the summer calendar.

i9 Youth Sports Leagues - Review

July 21, 2011

alt

Long gone are the days where the sole baseball option for kids was the local little league. With as many Oakland County youth sports leagues that are available, parents are left to do research to find out which is best suited for their children.

Recently, we were looking for a summertime youth sports league that offered sessions throughout the summer, instead of a week long camp or a two-day deal. i9 Sports offered this option so we had our daughter do the summer soccer program (instructional with scrimmages) and our son did the flag football league which has practices, games, PPK competition (punt, pass, kick), and playoffs.
