OCM Easy Holiday Recipes Guide

December 13, 2011

altHere are some of my favorite recipes to bring out during the holiday season. It's always nice (sometimes required) to bring a dish to a holiday gathering or Christmas party. These entrees and meals are all slow-cooker or crock pot ready for easy travel. These recipes are either my personal favorites or ones submitted by OCM readers that I've tried (and loved).

This Crock Pot Jambalaya Recipe is perfect for large holiday gatherings. You can leave it on the pot on low all day for guests to sample buffet style or serve it as a spicy appetizer for a big holiday dinner.

Let this Slow Cooker Pot Roast Recipe cook itself in a slow-cooker while you enjoy the holiday fun. The only real prep work involves simply browning the meat.

It doesn't get much easier than making salad to pass and this Ultimate Pasta Salad recipe is a favorite of mine. Not only does it taste great, it's festively colorful.

Like the Jambalaya recipe, this Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup recipe is easy to bring to a holiday party. It's an interesting twist on soup and I love the kick the taco seasoning brings.

Crock Pot Mexican Chicken. Thanks to an OCM reader for this one! I've used this one to bring to a Christmas party last year and the guests loved it.

If you're responsible for the all-important holiday turkey, Brining is one of the best ways to ensure a moist bird. Here's a guide on how to brine a turkey for the holidays. Includes video.
