I stopped in for lunch at the Zumba Mexican Grille in Birmingham recently. Zumba Mexican Grille is a Michigan-based restaurant with two locations, the original Royal Oak and the more recent Birmingham restaurant with the garage door style store front that lets the fresh air in during the warmer months.

Zumba Mexican Grille is set up with the "order at the counter style." After selecting your main dish, you pick your toppings. There are several toppings to choose from at Zumba Mexican Grille, including a vegetable medley, lettuce, pinto or black bean, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, black olives, jalapenos... Some of the sides (i.e. guac, sour cream and veggies) add an additional charge to your order.

The menu at Zumba consists of burritos (also available in a bowl), tacos, quesadillas, nachos, salads, tacons, and sopa. Zumba Mexican Grille's Kids menu offers a taco or quesadilla with drink and a side for $3.05.

The food at Zumba Mexican Grille is fresh. Zumba also has a salsa bar that holds seven different salsas that are made fresh in-house daily. The different salsas are House salsa mild, House salsa medium, Chipotle tomatillo medium hot, Pico de gallo medium hot, House salsa hot, Habanero roasted tomato extra hot, and Tomatillo jalapeno medium. The salsas at Zumba are also available for purchase (8oz., pint, or quart size).

The staff at Zumba Mexican Grille in Birmingham was very cheery and kind. I can appreciate a nice smile and good customer service so this was refreshing.
